New York is one of my favourite cities, so I was very excited when I was told I would be spending some time here. I flew direct with Delta Airlines from Dublin to JFK and spent 4 nights exploring the city. The Big Apple is home to so many iconic landmarks and attractions, it is impossible to be bored.

Location

I stayed in the 4* Parker New York during my visit. This hotel is right beside Central Park, so the location is perfect. It offers a range of amenities including a salon, spa and several restaurants & bars. My favourite part was the pool which overlooked Central Park.

What I Loved

I loved Times Square! It’s so surreal to see the iconic billboards and the atmosphere is electric. I had a great night at the LoL Times Square Comedy Club. I recommend going to see a comedy show here, tickets are only approx. $20.

What’s the coldest place you’ve ever been? ⠀ The weather has taken a sudden turn from gorgeous sunshine to miserable rain and I am not happy about it. ⠀ I’m definitely more of a summer sun person than I am winter destination, but we have done a couple of cold holidays 🥶 ⠀ New York was hands down the coldest! We had -5 most days but the weather app said it felt like -11 😳 ⠀ Even Iceland wasn’t that cold... ⠀ So a round of applause to all the New Yorkers out there who live in such appalling weather conditions every year! You’re braver than I am 🤦‍♀️😂 #adventureswithnatasha #timessquare #timessquarenyc #bigapple #icapture_nyc #ig_nycity #ilovenewyork #newyorkcity #newyorknewyork #nycityworld #streetsofnewyork #thebigapple #thisisnewyorkcity #what_i_saw_in_nyc #bestvacations #ilovetravel #lonelyplanet #passportexpress #planetdiscovery #roamtheplanet #travel #travelawesome #travelgram #travelnow #travelstoke #wonderful_places #worlderlust #traveladdicts #travelmood #justtravel

Activities and Places to See

  • Visiting Ground Zero is very emotional, but it is something everyone should experience on a New York holiday.
  • Take the ferry out to the iconic Statue of Liberty.
  • Admire the views from the top of the Empire State Building.
  • Rent a boat and go rowing on the lake in Central Park.

Shopping

My favourite place to shop is Woodbury Commons. Leave some space in your suitcase because some designer brands have up to 60% discounts! Getting there is easy too as you can pre-book a bus online that will take you straight to the outlets.

Food & Bars

Are you really on a New York holiday if you don’t visit the iconic Hard Rock Café on Times Square? This chain in particular is home to some of the best rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia. The food and cocktails are delicious too!

New York is known for its incredible sightseeing and shopping. The city’s many landmarks, iconic streets and outlet malls attract over 60 million visitors a year! The beauty of a New York holiday is that no matter how many times you revisit there is always something you’ve never seen before.
